TYM announced on the 28th that it has donated a total of 500 million won worth of funds and agricultural machinery through the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea to help rebuild the Ukrainian agricultural industry.
TYM has been pursuing humanitarian efforts in Ukraine since March with the aim of contributing to restoring farmland and rebuilding local communities due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. The initial donation in March consisted of about 100 million KRW in funds. And after securing a supply route that was previously blocked due to the conflict, 10 tractors worth 400 million won was delivered. In recognition of his efforts to contribute to global society, TYM Chairman Hiyong Kim received a certificate of donation from the Ukrainian Embassy in Korea on October 26th.
The donated tractors will be transferred to two municipal governments designated by the Ukrainian Embassy, Horodok and Ilarionove. In these areas, the TYM T475 and T575 tractors will be used for agricultural work as well as construction. Moreover, TYM is planning on following up with an aid program to increase the utilization of the donated tractors.
"I would like to thank TYM for its decision to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine," said Ruslan Demchak, the Ukrainian ambassador to Korea at the Ukrainian Embassy in Seoul. "The tractors will be used to improve the quality of life of local residents, including many Ukrainians who have lost their hometowns due to the war."
A TYM official stated, "We have prepared this project to help refugees in Ukraine affected by war and to help build food supplies and rebuild communities. We will continue to expand our humanitarian efforts domestically and abroad."
Meanwhile, TYM announced that it will broaden its partnership with Hydro-Masz, its exclusive distributor in Poland, to expand TYM’s business in Eastern Europe as part of its efforts to expand exports to the global market.
