- The third donation of agricultural machinery to Ukraine this year is expected to aid in the restoration of local agricultural infrastructure and the expansion of industrial cooperation
- As the first in the agricultural machinery industry to donate to Ukraine, TYM maintains a strong cooperative relationship, deciding on this donation as part of humanitarian support
- TYM plans to strengthen its position in the global agricultural machinery industry by entering the Ukrainian market and expanding into the European market
Agricultural machinery specialist TYM announced on the 21st that it has made an additional donation of agricultural machinery worth approximately 550 million KRW to accelerate cooperation in post-war reconstruction projects in Ukraine.
The donation ceremony held on the 18th at the Embassy of Ukraine in Korea was attended by TYM's CEO Kim Do-hoon, Global Business Division Head Kim Ho-kyum, and Dmytro Ponomarenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Korea. During the ceremony, discussions were held to continue close cooperation on the Ukraine reconstruction project. The donation includes 20 sets of tractors and equipment, as well as maintenance parts, which can be used for various war-damage recovery tasks, including agricultural work.
The donation was facilitated by a visit from Dmytro Pryputen, a Ukrainian parliament member and co-chair of the 'Ukraine-Korea Parliamentary Council,' and Taras Fedunkiv, Economic Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in Korea, to TYM's Yongsan headquarters on the 8th. Through a dialogue on cooperation for Ukraine's reconstruction, the delegation requested additional support, to which TYM, as a global corporation, responded by deciding on this third donation as a humanitarian gesture.
Since initiating the first donation to Ukraine in the agricultural machinery industry in 2022, TYM has been building a strong cooperative relationship with Ukraine through ongoing annual donations. Following the donation of 10 tractors worth approximately 400 million KRW and 100 million KRW in cash in 2022, TYM continued its support for Ukraine's war-damage recovery in 2023 with a donation of 14 sets of tractors and equipment worth 400 million KRW. With this third support, the cumulative donation amount exceeds 1.3 billion KRW, and the donated products are expected to serve as crucial resources in agricultural work, construction, and city maintenance projects in areas heavily affected by war damage.
A TYM representative stated, “We hope that the people of Ukraine will quickly return to their daily lives and that Korea and Ukraine will become the best partners in the agricultural sector,” adding, “We plan to further strengthen cooperation with Ukraine’s agricultural sector, successfully enter the Ukrainian market, and expand into the European market to solidify our position in the global agricultural machinery market.”
